May Kytonen is a visual artist based in Seattle, WA, creating work sourced from her mixed Taiwanese heritage. Since earning a degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington in 2012, her work and installations have been exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. May is a recipient of several awards, including an Artist Trust GAP award and smART Ventures Mini Grant through the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, and is an active member of the artist-run gallery SOIL. Her current body of work is an exploration of Asian-American identity and belonging.
